The Hamm Companies were the successful bidder on a 13 mile project for the Kansas Turnpike Authority. Work
began in January, 2005 and the most critical work item on the schedule was in installation of over 9000 lineal
feet of jacked concrete pipe including 450 feet of 84" pipe and 326 feet of 96" pipe. Miller the Driller was
our subcontractor for his item and they moved on the job with the entire grading work dependent on the
installation of the jacked pipe. All the pipe was installed by November of that year. Miller brought in the
necessary crews to complete the work and allow our grading work to progress so that we maintained our schedule.
The added bonus of working with Miller was their attitude of working to do whatever we needed to insure we kept
on schedule. They were good to work with and any future jacked pipe work will include them in our bidding process.
I want to thank you for the outstanding job your firm performed on the two 72" tunnels for us on the Johnson
County, Kansas 54" pipeline job. Despite the facts that the conditions were very crowded, hard to access, on a
grade, and incorporated tough schedules, your crew performed in an admirable manner. When it came to traffic control
and safety, the crew was professional and courteous to the public on the very busy adjoining arterial street. We
appreciate the teamwork, the quality, the sense of urgency to get the project done, and the competitive price that
helped us get the job. I have worked with Miller the Driller for 14 years. They are honest, hard working people that know what it takes
to get the job done. They are committed to quality work at competitive prices. I use Miller the Driller as a subcontractor,
because I know that the job will get done on time and on budget. Their knowledge of boring is unsurpassed in the industry.
